Hot-water bags have been a staple for providing soothing warmth for centuries. However, designer Tahsin Emre Eke recognized the flaws in the conventional design and set out to create a hot-water bag that is not only functional but also safe and convenient to use.
Traditional hot-water bags often come with the risk of burning our hands while filling them with hot water. Additionally, they require us to hold them in place, limiting their usability to bedridden situations. With Grow, Eke has addressed these issues and more.
One of the standout features of Grow is its foldable design, allowing it to be easily adapted to any part of the body. This innovative design eliminates the need to hold the bag while pouring hot water, as it can be conveniently kept by the handle. This not only prevents the risk of burns but also enables users to apply the hot-water bag to any area without the need for assistance.
Grow is made using a plastic injection system with molds, utilizing pp/epdm thermoplastic material. Its dimensions of 170mmX20mmX450mm make it compact and portable, perfect for on-the-go use.
Research conducted by burns experts reveals the dangers associated with traditional hot-water bottles, with half of all injuries caused by bursting bottles. Grow aims to mitigate these risks and provide a safer alternative for users.
Recognizing its ingenuity and contribution to improving quality of life, Grow was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design category in 2016. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit exceptional creativity, technical skill, and resourcefulness.
With Grow, Tahsin Emre Eke has reimagined the hot-water bag, creating a product that combines functionality, safety, and convenience. Say goodbye to the limitations of traditional hot-water bags and embrace the warmth and comfort of Grow.
